hiya what about one of the pop up travel cots,  i know samsonite do one!

After much umming and ahhing we bought a kampa airlock junior bed for our little girl who is a similar age you your LO. We got her a pink one and our 3 year old a blue one.

Will be trying it soon, nice to hear you've had a good time with a baby so young, we're a bit nervous about it but looking forward to it too.

You can get carry cots for the big pushchair combos that are much bigger than normal. The ones for the older Silver Cross models were big enough to hold a child up to nearly a year. Ask around your pals with oldrr kids...they might have one in the attic. Or try an NCT sale or charity shops. Remember to put a piece of camping mat under it as insulation.

Or is co-sleeping an option? I did this with my babies up to when they were abour 6-8 months. Hubby likes his beer so he had his own mat, usually in with the toddler. Very convenient, especially if breastfeeding. I used an extra wide single airbed and double cotton sleeping bag.

We used a travel cot and still do for the youngest,  who's 1. Like already said great as a playpen when your cooking or if you have to put them somewhere to keep them safe.

I aggree, our youngest is 2 and a half, we used our travel cot for the last time when we went camping at the end of May.

its fitting it in the car though isn't it, we have a travel cot, I couldn't fit it in at all.

I think your baby will be fine in a moses basket for a good while yet.  People tend to say they are too small but in reality arn't at all.  My little girl quite happily fitted in her moses til she was about 8 months old !

We did the co sleeping this time at camping but I'd really like to try and fit the travel cot in next time (did I mention I want a trailer ha ha) as I'd like to pop her in it at the side of the tent while I'm cooking etc.  It was hard this time as she was crawling off all over the shop and even the sides of the tent didn't keep her in for long !!  She kept making a bee line for the dog... who wasn't very impressed with her !!

Good thing about keeping them in a moses basket is they don't take up much room when packing as you can shove loads of stuff in it and they are quite flexible !
