Is there something awful I don't know about double sleeping bags?? Yesterday we went in no less than 4 camping equipment shops and not one of them had a double sleeping bag in stock.
DH and I prefer to sleep in a double but have previously been using 2 singles zipped together but they gave up the ghost on our last trip so we thought we would plump for a double . . . only we weren't able to buy one! We've ended up ordering online. I do like being able to see things before I buy them though.
We have an Outwell double bag - can't remember the exact model... (Wasn't the Hudson)... But it's great... Really warm and spacious... We got it from Go Outdoors during a sale last year... Last visit we went they didn't have any, wonder if they were an end of line product, hence getting reduced in the sale... They did have some other double bags though - if you have a store near you could be worth a visit - gives you an excuse to go and visit another camping store
We have a king size Wynnster bag that we bought this year from a camping and caravan store on Sandy Lane, near Wideopen on the edge of town.It was £35 and very cosy.
It's fab !

I'm not so shy now .Am colourful pyjama- wearing person who likes to say hello.
Minty - she's a girls best friend and Aurora and Colin keep us snug and warm.
I used to have a really nice double sleeping bad, from Argos, but I have just ordered this one: http://www.dpbolvw.net/click-1428744-10475506?url=http://www.outdoormegastore.co.uk/acatalog/Outwell_Contour_2_Season_Double_Sleeping_Bag.html
It's got built in pillows that can be zipped out - not sure how good they will be, but it unzips on both sides, which is fab because I have found there is nothing worse than being stuck in the non-zippy side of a double sleeping bag when it's hot!!!
Can you not use a duvet? You could buy a cheap one from Dunelm and just use it for camping. We used to use a double sleeping bag but OH always seemed to take up so much space that I would end up being dragged across the bed with him, unable to move! Since we gave up with our double we just take a duvet which is more than warm enough and very comfortable. Just a thought...
We have two doubles in the garage, used em once, cost me a small fortune, hated them. Now we just grab the qulits of the beds and pillows, sheet up the two aero beds, now that's comfort.
we have one of these lightweight ones from go outdoors.

We had a coleman double, but my OH used to take up 2/3's of it and I felt hemmed in. We then went to singles, which was fine for me, but OH felt to restricted. So if we take the tent, he has a double to himself and I have a single. Since having the folding camper we use duvets and they are so much better, really cosy.
We went to the camping exibition in wokingham yesterday with the intension of getting a double sleeping bag - saw one we both liked (amazing!) but then saw 2 singles that we could zip together that were cheaper than the double and we would be able to wash them individually in our machine rather than taking it to the laundry.
zipped together they are slighly wider than the double but as I'm accused of "nicking" the covers every night it was probably better getting them.
