On our second visit to Cornwall as "camping newbies" after spending all day in traffic and not arriving till 7.30pm the first thing we were greeted with was a cup af tea from the caravan next door and offers of help from both vans across. We still see some of them after ten years.
Yes some of the new tents are huge and need large pitches which can cause problems and the noisy people will not stay on quiet sites more than once they will find one to suit themselves or go back to the all inclusive hotel in Benidorm.
It seems anyone with a small tent is classed as young and noisy and anyone with a large tent with lots of equipment is rich and noisy.Cannot win.
We now have a caravan and have met lots of people over the years, some new and some experienced and one very large family who pitch next to each other on 4 pitches and all eat together in 2 gazebos and hold parties for birthdays and drink more red wine than i have ever seen are on the same site as us in Cornwall and look like the family from hell but are the kindest and most friendliest people you could meet.
The owner of the site sends all the kids to bed at 9.30 (closes the playground) and returns at 10.30 to make sure its all quite,he does not stop you enjoying yourself as long as you are quite. If anyone is too noisy late at night a quick word with him and he sorts it out.You do not have to put up with noisy people on a decent site.
