Am I the only sad one who saves up that month's magazines - Caravan, Practical Caravan, Camping, Country Walking, CC, C&CC, Walk, Land Rover Monthly, etc?
I find they're all great for dipping into without too much of a challenge but usually find I learn something from at least one of them.
As for books, Christopher Brookmyre has to be my favourite - usually crime but with some very dark humour and often colourful language so be careful if you have little ones around. The humour is often of the "laugh out loud" variety so be ready to explain yourself. With titles like "All Fun and Games Until Someone Loses an Eye", "A Big Boy Did It And Ran Away", and "One Fine Day in the Middle of the Night", you know you're in for something interesting!
