Agree with what Valbarley says - time flies by, we normally sit round the fire chatting and poking the fire (we all seem to be obsessed with poking the fire)

I can tell you that by 11ish time I am usually moaning about the incondsiderate 'people' who are being too loud with music blaring and generally not caring about anyone else 17

I think they follow me to every campsite.......

Kids generally stay up much later than usual and we play games - the new Monopoly Card game is really good fun, chat and eat. Sometimes watch a dvd as we take our lap top with us for films. Or walk to a nearby pub with a beer garden for a night cap!

Once the kids are asleep, we carry on drinking, reading books, nibbling olives and feta cheese (yum) Not tried nookie in the tent yet but I'm sure one day when I'm drunk enough not to feel self conscious! Stargazing and just talking to each other instead of being in separate rooms on separate PCs is really lovely.

I can't wait for weekend after next now, I'm feeling tentsick (instead of homesicl)

Well with no tv to distract us or laptop to divert us there are numerous options

Games til it is too dark to carry on (cricket rounders etc)
Imbibing moderate amounts of possibly intoxicating beverages
Stargazing, plannig meetings for the following day
Indoor games, reading

and even sometimes talking more than three words to each other in one go

Also going to bed early having been worn out by the fresh air

Most important thing is just being chilled out and relaxed

(23 sleeps to Cornwall and we cant wait)

-------------
We only go camping to see what we have forgotten and what we need to get for next time. If only we could remember where we put the list..................

Talk to each other mostly. We do read and occasionally play games but mainly just chat.

We usually always go for a stroll after dinner (to walk off said feast!!) than the little'un goes off to play with his friends while we sip some vino (or cider depending on what sort of mood we are in).
Once it gets dark then out comes the glow-sticks for little'un and all his friends to play with (it also lets you know where they are!!) during which time we are probably chatting with camping buddies...
once things quiet down we like to (on a clear night) just lay back and gaze at the stars......... Bliss

errrmmmm.......i am really not sure, it just never seems to happen, byt the time we have cooked, eaten, got kids to bed and cleared up tent ready for the next day, it feels like its nearly morning already!

daytimes when baby is sleeping and kids are all playing happily (in seperate corners of the field, obviously!) is when i get to lie back with a book for 10 mins, before the next meal has to start.......why is my camping life dictated by meals???
