currently camping in lovely new outwell idaho xl on week 2 of holiday. Week 1 devon and now in cornwall. Bought an extension this week from a yeomans exhibition which makes loads of difference but has been pretty windy today and i wondered whether we should take extension down until calms. Am holding my breath at moment wondering if anything gonna give! Our tent seems to flap around more than others here. Reassurance please !(excuse typo's am using phone). Thanks

We discussed this this morning as we were breaking camp.....we have an orchy 600 and a large sun canopy. It was getting very windy and I watched the pegs pulling loose ( they were bog standard pegs in stony ground).

We decided, if we`d stayed tonight we`d have taken it down.....not the reassurance you`re looking for

Also, it was making the tent move more in the wind that it does without........

that's my thinking that without it the tent would be more sturdy as wind cannot get in and under it. But it has been ok all today. No probs with pegs just a lot of pressure from the side on it. But then aren't they meant to be up in all conditions? Love hearing rain in a tent but defo hate wind!

Our porch opened out into the wind.....so it was, essentially, a big balloon.

I have heard, that if the porch guys have any `chafe points` on the main tent beware...the wind can split pole sleeves where they cross.....got any tenacious tape with you?

we allways took our extension down if it was really windy.

When we were looking at The Outwell Montana incl extension the man at Outdoor Megastore advised us that if we bought one we would have to take it down in the wind. That was good enough advice for me !!
