having bought a cabanon satellite 6 this spring we are going to be using it shortley and wondered if anybody had any advice on keeping out the elements having no sewn in groundsheet.  any advice would be great

Hi,

We have a vango colorado, we don't have a sewn in groundsheet, ours is a bathtub , which rises at the sides, I have just purchased some cheaper groundsheets from poundland to go underneath, just for extra protection and to be honest, it will save our main grounsheet from getting dirty underneath.If it comes to it I can throw the smaller ones away af

Cabanons have fantastic mud/draft flaps so it's highly unlikely you'll have any problems.

We rarely use a groundsheet in the living area of our Cabanons at all as we like the grass under our feet but we do sometimes put a cheap pvc groundsheet under the sleeping pods.

What many people do is put the flaps inwards and then drop a pvc groundsheet on top of them.

Hi,

We also have a cabanon and use one of those open weave breathable groundsheet in the living area and a pvc one under the bedrooms with a two foot overlay into the main living area (nice to step out onto!).

I was not sure about the merits of the breathable groundsheet at first but it works really well and is lovely to walk on and surprisingly warm. It is also easy to clean - just hose it down!

thanks for the advice harrybob could you tell me when you place a pvc sheet under the bedroom do you just pierce it  when you peg the bedroom inner down????  thanks
