Just bought a 7 year old Andorra on ebay and lo and behold the annex and some curtains are missing. Should have known better really, and seller has offered refund, but tent is otherwise in great condition and I have already fallen in love with it, so have decided to try and find replacements. Any ideas where I can find the missing items? Have thought about making curtains but would need the clips at the top. I wasn't going to worry about curtains until I saw the size of the window! This my first Cabanon so can't wait to give it a go !!
I have a Cabanon Andorra you could try Camping internationalThese helpd me when i need spares. and to be honest the curtains are the least thing i would worry about if i won one of these. My tent has not got the zip at the side for the annex.Do you mind if i ask how much?
Thanks for the link Carole, I'll give them a call. We've definitely got the zip at the side, but I expect it will be difficult to get a matching annex now, due to the age of the tent. We paid £140 which included roof lining and sun canopy (and should have included annex) and its all like new, so not sure what happened to the missing bits which were shown in picture. I think prices on ebay all went a bit mad when the sun came out a few weeks ago!
You should be able to get an annexe - though a matching coloured one may be difficult. I had to get a grey/blue one for my green/yellow tent.
Did they advertise it with and annexe? annexes (annexi??) are usually extra items.
Before you go ahead and buy the annexe pitch the ten and see if it has the zip out panel to accommodate it. Tents pre 2001/20 didn't.
Curtains - I'd say buy the clips and make your own.
Going looking for my links to cabanon spares suppliers.
What sort of curtain clips? Is it the little plastic hooks that slide onto a clear flexible plastic "rail"? If so, Pennine-Conway sell them. Ignore the bit where they say "£15 postage"...they adjust it for weight when they invoice you.
£140 is a really good price for it.
Maybe they had the annexe and the curtains in another bag and they may turn up at some point - keep in contact witht he seller just in case
I paid £225.00 for mine and it was in mint condition .One occasion i left the ceiling and curtains at home and mine was the only tent on site with stripey fleece blankets for curtains. You have a bargain there mate i would e mail the seller and query this issue but i would not send the tent back.Mine is our retirement tent. when all the kids(1 mine) and the others mates kids, kids mate have stopped comming then this tent will be out to play.Good luck and welcome to the site.
Wow!! Thanks to everyone for the advice and links, I think I might buy the clips and have a go at making the curtains and then make some calls about the annex. I was hoping that the seller may find the bits, but no joy. Whilst I have the attention of you Cabanon experts, what do you all recommend when it comes to groundsheets. I am so used to a SIG and being creepy-crawly free!
I'd be interested to know about the ideas for groundsheet as well having just got a cabanon. Doyou put tarpaulin down then a groundsheet or a groundsheet then picnic rugs?
We got a Blue Diamond custom made heavy duty groundsheet from Caseys in Chester - you basically give them the floor measurements coming in a few cm on all sides to allow for it to sit on mudflaps and they cut it to size - it cost around £70. We then put a Montana 12 carpet on top of that - fits my Athena really well.
Footprint is made from good quality pond liner material.
Then I'll use the eco matting I was also given and on that Isabella flooring (also came with the tent) as a carpet and possibly the Montana 12 carpet (same as Fiona) or one of the other - whichever fits best.
Talking myself into going on a meet at the beginning of December now you know
You got such a great deal there Keely (good old rex) we wanted to do the pondliner & matting but as the Pond liner stuff worked out at around £150-200 we almost fell over & quickly reverted to normal groundsheet & then to add eco matting was a further £75 (but I think you can get it cheaper online) so we skipped that too.
