for my birthday!17

I think that makes our collection stand at 6 now!  1717 - although 2 of them are on permanent loan to family members.

Well my hubby being like he is went BIG.  He bought a Hi Gear Kalahari 10 tunnel tent.

So we have semi unpacked it onto the lounge floor to make sure its all there and it looks like it is. I think we will try erecting it tomorrow.  Am a bit annoyed that it says the seams need to be sealed as although we can probably just about squeeze it onto the back lawn there wont be room to guy it down.  With sealing the seams it will need to be left completely dry for 24 hours as well (better check the weather).  Then then instructions says it needs to be weatherd17 - I didnt think this applied to plastic/nylon tents.   So I suppose now I need to pray for a dry 24 hours followed by rain! LOL

Being a tunnel tent I can see its going to be prone to getting wet inside as soon as the door is opend on a rainy day, so I am after a porch or extension.  Anyone know which extension may fit?  I know Hi Gear is made by Gelert but was also wondering if any other makes may fit.  Any help or advice re this much appreciated as I am going on my hols in 2 weeks!

We have a sunncamp haven 800 tunnel tent and was told by out local camping shop that a kyham porch around£80 would fit most tunnel tents.

Having looked at a picture of yours it it much the same shapew as ours so would fit. its great as it goes out about 4-5ft out from the tent and about 8 ft wide. we keep our cooker out there with the fridge, wellies, shoes etc and it has a zip front that can be done up in bad weather or when you go out. I would really recommend it.

YOu can also buy a sunncamp sun porch but this does not zip up its just a canopy .

Nice one Emma...that's thrown your plans for a smaller polycotton . A man who buys tents is always good in my book!

It's a nice looking tent though, how will you use it? Will you all sleep in one pod and drop the other one? The pods look a decent size. It's a good regular shape so you shouldn't have problems with pitch sizes.

Can't help on the canopy issue though, sorry.

Enjoy your new tent!

Nice tent! Looks very similar to my Ontario 8. With another baby on the way, I may well be looking for a slightly bigger one!

And Happy Birthday 17
