Its the same argument charging for a caravan awnings, its all on the same pitch.I am always tempted to say we don't have one and put it up and see what happens.
On a lot of pitches theres not enough space to put it 3m away
Dont want to cook in tent: extra condensation (SIG), cooking smells, splilt/splashed ingredients, clutter etc. Then again I dont want to be dragging kitchen, cooker, utensils, ingrediants in and outside to cook in all weather elements everytime I wanna eat............Hence Utility tent.
Had differing responses on C&CC's and CS's to request to pitch even tho never declined, nor charged extra fee:
(When shown designated pitch)"Yeah no probs, just put it on end near your tent"
(On booking)Yes, should'nt be a problem, just notify us on the online booking form".
The one that got me was after being given a choice of pitches then asking if I could use utility I was told "if you'd have been on a 'normal' pitch then you wouldn't have been able to" My tent is at it's widest points 7.25m x 2.60m. The warden was including my guy ropes (not as spec in C&CC rules) adding 2m on my footprint
As I said my request wasn't rejected but what did get my back up was I had paid for a GWE with awning! Next thing I know a caravan parks in the next pitch (about half metre shorter than my tent, including its hitch) then proceeds to erect a full length/width awning.........plus one of the biggest windbreak coralls I've ever seen
Now I'm not one for the Tent/Caravan/Motorhome squabbles (unless it's light hearted banter) but this did kind of shout "double standards"!
Glad I got that off my chest because it's been bugging me for ages.
Happy cooking everybody..........where ever ya do it
