EDIT: just noticed you have a Sun Valley 6 - a fantastic tent, BTW
We have a Sun Valley 6 and whilst it may move and creak a bit, I've been in a quite severe storm in it and it held up great.
Guys: about half way between the tent and the absolute maximum has worked well for me.
The SunValley has fibreglass poles which can flex with the wind if they need to. A steel frame (like a Montana) won't be able to flex as much.
Either way, I wouldn't be worried!
