I can't find any reviews of this yet - is there a good reason for this?!

Am still on the search for a small, 4 man tent (2 adults, 2 young children) for touring, one-nighters etc.

This is light... but still quite big. I want a tardis tent - one that looks like a 3 man, but takes four.

Anyway, feedback on the Kyham Nomad greatly appreciated.

Not seen this one but looks like a decent bit of kit with 2 good size bedrooms - I like Khyam tents.
My only concern would be the very minimal living area - it would be a real squeeze with 2 adults and 2 children in there if the weather was bad.

I have the Licata 400 for quick get aways - decent size bedroom takes 2 double airbeds (bedroom can be divided by curtain) and large living area. Also has SIG and is standing height. Quick and easy to put up too. Same price as the Nomad.

We have the Khyam Santiago, a 4-man vis-a-vis and have been very happy with it. I believe it's been replaced by the Khyam Winnipeg with a SIG now. However, we use it for 2 adults, and I don't know where you'd store all your gear and "live" in bad weather using a 4-man tent for 4 people.

I don't really want a living area (or standing height) as this will be our spur of the moment fair weather tent... hence small and as light as possible is the requirement. If we wake to prolonged rain it will be addressed by getting in the car and going somewhere dry - probably home!

I think I'm hankering after carefree backpacker days - and in denial about the realities of having two lovely, lively children in tow!

Has anyone managed to camp light with a couple of small kids?

Have found the Nomad at outdoorworlddirect.co.uk in their sale - bargain at £79.00

At that price it would be worth getting if you're not bothered about large living space or standing height.

The Primus Bifrost H4 gets really good reviews and looks good too.

Depending how young the kids are, can you put them in a pup?  Our kids loved having their own tent from the age of about 7.

The youngest is only 3 - so although I think a pup tent is the way we will go in the future - we're a fair few years off yet!

I'll add the Primus to my fantasy tent wish-list in case I become wealthy!
