Hi folks, I am looking at a campsite for next weeks holiday, I went away last week and took the EHU, how great the OH thought it was to make a quick cuppa, pop some bread in a toaster and all the other perks that go with EHU.

Anyway the site I have looked at has a pitch available, but on the CCC website it states it is hardstanding.

Now I thought a hardstanding pitch would be for motor homes etc, not tents.

Has any other members used a hardstanding pitch with there tent? How would you peg the tent out, Monty6? Is it comfortable?

Any opinions greatly appreciated.

ive stopped on a hardstanding but piched the tent to the side or to the back of the pitch on the grass,ask them if you can do this.

There are several hardstanding threads if you do a search

I have camped on them, and am doing so again this summer....no problems with it

If its a C& C Club site hardstanding,then the are very stoney with sharp gravel.
I would certainly not pitch my tent on one.

Have you rang the site and asked about pitching on the grass, I have recently booked a site for the bank holiday weekend and their website states 'all pitches are hard standing' when I rang to book i asked if i would have to pitch on the hard standing and the owner laughed (not in a condescending way) and said no i pitch on the grass adjacent to the hardstanding. He asked for my tent measurements and said he would reserve a suitable pitch for me.
