Hi our trailer is a 158 Daxara we took the decision to get a wheel clamp (tis heavy good job we have a trailer to put in in/on.)
As we tend to camp abroad and this involves over night stop overs at hotels and a weeks stay at friends flat thought we should do some security measures, the trailer and the kit inside cost 2k.and would not leave it unsecured.more importantley if it was taken we would not be able to have our holiday/camping .our car would just not have the room.
we also have a tow hitch lock and locking wheel nuts
we would take turns to use loo etc at servicesand keep trailer and car in sight when stopping at aires.I would feel most secure/relaxed onceat the camp site as we know the layout /area and other campers lookout for each other.
Whilst I think any thing can be stollen if the person is determind enough ,I want to minimise the risk.Hopefully it will mean that I can sleep better I usually don't,execpt on the campsite
we did consider just using a large chain but then there has to be something conveniant to chain to and the quaility ones are heavy and pricey,
So no you do not need one ,but may think you should get one
