Yesterday and today we went shopping and we got a 26L Mobicool which can plug in normally or into the car.
We got a good deal on a Campingaz (I think that's how you spell it) 2 pit gas cooker with a grill that goes on it, together with a table with a storage area underneath and a wind screen. All of it was still new in the box and was only 65 euro together. Not bad considering the cooker itself would have been closer to 100 euro alone.
We got this Isabella Bolon carpet but I'm really not sold on it. It seems so plastic but my husband is convinced it will be good inside the tent with the dogs etc. Any opinions? I sort of had my mind on something soft and slightly cushy but this is, plastic and bleh. It's like this:

We can't get those nice outwell carpets here (ticks me off) and Angie suggested another type but my husband didn't think it'd be good because of the holes with our dogs nails.
*Edit*
I found a photo that shows what the carpet is like that we got. It's a diff brand but it's the same thing. Plastic type woven stuff.
Do people use this kind of thing inside their tent?
I am new on this forum an I very interested to buy a Bascamp AMBATO VI.
We are three. My son will be 3 years old this summer. I would like to have some more information after your holiday.
Xammy lovely looking tent, you surely wont get lost finding your way back to that in the dark!
£rd floor huh, lol gl carrying up them stairs! unless you have elevator...anyway your carpet sounds ideal with dogs, easy to clean perhaps? Just buy some scatter rugs and throw them down for extra comfort, bargain on the cooker ect.
Happy holidays!

Hey all :) We ended up returning that carpet as it was too plastic-like for what we wanted. It's more like something you'd use outside a trailer or something. I ended up ordering another carpet from the UK that we liked a LOT better.
We went on two trips last season with our Ambato V and we were so happy with it. It suited us and our two dogs perfectly! We stayed within a few hours of home, since it was our first time out. Our first trip was just 2 days to test things out, the 2nd trip was supposed to be just a weekend but we ended up staying almost 3 weeks!
If you'd like to see a bit more of the Ambato 5 I have some camping photos here: My flickr camping set
Thanks for your reply and the nice pictures.
There is just one think scaring my wife is the color. She is affraid that it will get fast dirty and not looking nice anymore.
We will surely order it soon from kampeertotaal.nl because it's 300€ cheaper than in Belgium.
We will use it this year in the south of France (Gorges du Verdon) for a week. But before that we will do a weekend trip in Belgium to check out that everything is fine.
We had a few nights on our 2nd trip where it was nothing but wind and rain. One side of our tent got totally covered in mud and I thought 'uh oh!'. The following day it rained more but with less wind and the mud just washed right off.
I'm not really all that concerned with the color / dirt after that. :)
If I could give one issue I have with the tent is that all the poles are on the outside and they haven't given anything inside to attach things too. Like we'd love to have one of those hanging things with all the pockets but there are no straps inside to connect it to. There is also nothing in the middle of the main area to attach a lantern / light to in the middle of the roof.
It's not a major issue for us as we just use other storage options but it is something I noticed that I wished was different.
