Only three weeks till we go to france and already thinking about next years trip!

Next year I am thinking about purchasing a trailer as our zafira seems to get increasingly full (we already have a roof box). I was wondering about peoples thoughts on security for items in the trailer when parked up overnight. I know security devices wheel clamps but also trailer hook locks but what about the items themselves?

If you are travelling south it may well be necessary to break the journey by staying at a formula 1 or other cheap hotel. Just concerned about leaving the trailer parked up outside to find things gone in the morning...has anyone experienced this or should we just aim to drive to our desination in one go...?

We made a solid top for our trailer and lock it with a chain and padlock.

Maybe this is something you could do on your trailer?

Hi, we bought a trailer and it has been money well spent!  Re security, we only stop at campsites and I work on the premise that anything in the trailer would be left in the tent/awning when we leave the site so would be just as safe.  I undersand your thinking about staying in hotels however, that would maybe be a different kettle of fish for me!

We're staying at a Travelodge before going on to our campsite next week, I was fine about it but I'm starting to worry now 17

I make myself feel a bit better about leaving the Sankey trailer with a canvas tarp by tightening a couple of wide ratchet straps each front to back and side to side over the contents which I cover with thick cardboard. No good against a determined thief but likely to deter the casual snooper.
