I have been camping since the early 1990s and i can honestly say have never seen a light blue fire extinguisher on campsites or come to that not even at my place of work, I stand by what i say regarding cooking in a tent all what is needed is a bit of common sense, i have been doing it for years and not going to stop now because some amateur film maker wants to make a name for himself scare mongering, still a sad state of affairs when nobody helps but just stand there doing sweet FA, exploding gas bottles are very dangerous so whoever was in charge of that site should have evacuated everyone from the site including the 'film maker' and his child.... really with some of the questions on this site of late i am beginning to wonder where all the proper campers have gone

Having watched that video twice and reading other comments, the guy filming it says he is doing it to show the people who owned the tent, i would have been astounded that he was so close to it with a child, and watched while some other guy put himself at risk trying to tackle a fire which he had no chance of winning not in strong breezes as that, my opinion would be stay well away!!.  His comment on "thats why you should never cook in a tent" if that was in a utility tent at the side the effect would have been much the same wether it be there tent or the persons next to it. I feel sorry for the people there holiday was ruined, but i must assume there must have been a fault or something with there equipment for that to happen while they were out.

There are thousands of people going camping each year and these incidents are going to happen even if its just the odd one, please be carefull and have a safe holiday everyone.

Like anything else, a bit of common sense is what's required.

We have an electric hob for cooking, placed securely on a table but even so any form of cooking and it is watched at all times

I've not seen this video but I have been unfortunate enough to see the results of some numpty that cooked in a small tent who got a gas flare unexpectedly. In thetford forest in a bone dry summer of all places. Fortunately he was rescued and the fire extinguished.

Trust me people, you can talk about the virtue of a youtube post all you like, but once you've seen it in real life you'll never cook in a tent again.

If you absolutely must, alway remember, keep your stove well clear of the door so you have an exit route.
