We haven't had chance to go camping yet due to work commitments - was hoping to go on our very first family camping trip in the next month or so. Was hoping for the weather to be ok for our first trip to learn the ropes so to speak. Just scared of the muddy/flooding/windy weather we seem to be getting. Bought our tent at the end of last season after a lot of research and we've so been looking forward to getting out there.
Been on a school coach trip to Bridlington today and got soaked to the skin! We all knew it was going to be bad so it didn't dampen our spirits. But when its the school hols its so sad that the summer are so wet.
The absolute worst that can happen to us is a couple of carpets get trashed the main rig and the annexe are bombproof so we're not worried at all. Or old XXL has stood upto 30+ mph winds, the new annexe has till to prove itself but I don't think we have much to be worried about to be true. We've been looking forward to this for months and I know what you mean with regard to your hubby Tracey, my wife used to work for Woolworths at their office in Rochdale. I've just sen that it's probably going to pee it down while I'm loading up too !!
------------- You don't stop doing things because you get old, you get old because you stop doing things !
We are off to Bath and West Showground on Saturday for a week for New Wine. There are about 11,000 people there this week so the fields will probably be churned up but my only thought is that it can't be as wet as last year when I managed one cup of coffee sitting in the sun!
I just hope it stops raining for about an hour on Saturday afternoon so we can get the tent up and then after that we have so much to do and as we will be there with friends we will enjoy it anyway.
We look out across the Mendips Hilary and I am afraid to say it has done nothing but rain here today. Most of the time Glastonbury Tor has been hidden under rain clouds.
I was meant to be going to north devon this weekend, but the campsite is now totally water logged and having to cancel loads of bookings! Im guessing with the weather due this weekend its probably best, but im gutted! Been looking forward to going away for months :( english summers ey!

I'm off to the IOW on Saturday and despite weather forecast, I'm really looking forward to it. Was there last year and it really can't be as bad as it was then!
Being an eternal optomist, if the grounds wet at least it's easier to get the pegs in!
