Haven't been camping for what seems like ages. Going on Saturday 1st August for one week in Herefordshire with my 10 year old daughter.Haven't checked things yet, thinking of doing it all last minute, taking the Friday afternoon off work to do it all. But then got to wondering how long in advance other people start getting ready? Should I be checking airbeds and things at this stage....?
Thought if other people get ready early it might motivate me to start...the rain is putting me off at the moment!!!

I've started on 'the pile' already and we are off on Monday.

I'd be starting now and taking Friday afternoon off to get a head start on travelling and pitching.

Hi Keeley,

I know I should start really. Hubby borrowed my tent and other equipment a few months ago and I'm not sure where he's put all the bits unfortunately~!
Think I'll start tomorrow!

I'm not usually this organised - it was just we were sorting through all the girls clothes (keep or dump or charity shop sorting through) and I decided they could pack their clothes for next week at the same time.

Then I thought as we had the Cadac I didn't need to pack so many pans for OH to cook with so I sorted through the cooking box.

I got him to get the Cadac out last night and check it was all there and he knew how to put it together and this morning I made him hook it up and test it so that is 'in the pile' now (his baby but I'll get the blame if it's not all (OK when we get there)

The I thought where did we put the carpet? so out came the tent. the poles, the footprint and the carpet (found on top of bunk beds!)

Needed pegs so I went through the peg bag checking on mallets, repair stuff, guy lines and pegs (it's going to be stoney ground). Took out useless ones and added extra rock pegs and other bits and bobs.

That's all I've done so far though.

Owww wellies and waterproof bag 'in the pile' as well

Where are you off to? We are heading to Wales (Ceredigion)

You sound very organised!

We're going to Herefordshire.
I need to start checking stuff tonight I think. Don't want to blowing up the airbeds though, they're new so should be okay I hope!

Want to take as little as possible as I hate unpacking once I get back home!

Sorry, I mentioned Herefordshire in the first post, can't be any more specific as I don't even know exactly where. Going with my inlaws. Were going to somewhere called Bidston? But they've changed it to another place and I can't find the details.... so I'm planning on the inlaws providing me with more info tomorrow! They're coming from Brecon and I know it's quite near to them.

We are going to Lakes in Tuesday....Our 'pile' of usual stuff is already sorted tent, sleeping bags, cooker etc. Hubby has assured me that gas bottle will have enough in it for this trip, this is the same hubby that forgot the torch on our last trip (the only thing he had to remember) and there were no lights at night on the site we went to!!!

Am going to get all washing and ironing done today and pack case over the weekend, clothes, youngests toys, older 2s books, ipods etc. Also box with all non perishable food items, then chuck perishables in Tuesday morning!

Only 5 more sleeps to go yipeeee!!!
