I got some from Tesco and they just cracked when we put hot food in them (plates and bowls).

Thanks for ideas - first stop, Poundland! LOL!

I used to use cheap Ikea plates but not being melamine they used to weigh a ton by the time I got them to the washing up area (we always seem to camp furthest away) so I opted for the melamine ones.

I too hate naff flowery ones so I waited until the end of the Summer and bought mine from Wilko's in the sale.

Now I'm looking for some nice wine glasses because I managed to crack them last year!

Bought mine from Wilkos - white background with different green leaves on them (Match the Vermont - sad I know!!) great to buy them individually 'cos I wanted more plates than bowls, and they do a large serving plate too which is great for breakfast/lunchtime butties, then everyone can just dive in.

Our local pound shop (not poundland) has clearly bought up lots of ex-woolies stock and they have a lovely white with pink flowers melamine range. Not much help I know lol. Have you tried Instore, Argos, or your local camping shop?

We have always found Tesco, Asda and Pound Stretcher are really good value for money.
