OK, know this has been asked before BUT which one would you recommend? We have a gazebo with a leaky roof + tarp. It is very effective but heavy and bulky. I have another thread on the subject of reroofing it.
I am now thinking about getting a day tent instead but it must be sturdy. It has to stand up to the same wind and rain as the main tent and be waterproof.
Mesh sides/windows + cover is fine. 3m x 3m is good!
Sorry I haven't put this in Tents but I think I may get more response here!
We have a sunncamp dayroom which is fab, very waterproof. It has clear windows (with optional covers) on two sides and two mesh (with optional covers) on the other two sides and you can unzip and fully roll each of the four sides.
I like the mix of windows and mesh. My friends have what I think is he Royal dayroom (it's 50p shaped?), they don't like the fact that it doesn't have covers on all of the windows so it's difficult to use it well to create shade plus if they use it as a kitchen/storage their stuff is always on view, this would be less of a problem on ordinary campsites but more of an issue on "event" sites.
We have the quechua base seconds and the base seconds 4.2. Both can be put up in minutes and taken down in about 5. The quechua base is the perfect size for a day tent, we used ours in gale force winds and howling rain and it didn't affect performance of tent a bit.
