I bought a footprint groundsheet to go under my Vango Tigris 800 in the hope that when it rained I wouldn't get my feet wet. How wrong was I? It rained considerably last week (Forest of Dean) and although we pitched on relatively dry ground the rain eventually must have gone through the soil under the tent and did come back through the groundsheet. This happened mainly where there was a pressure point, ie under the chair legs and feet. We kept on drying the areas with a towel and placed a waterproof picnic mat over it, this became completely wet underneath but at least our feet stayed dry. Has anybody else suffered like this? Bearing in mind the Tigris has a SIG AND we had the footprint, should we still expect to get wet?? Any advice out there? Thanks.

We had a week away in our tigris and it rained constantly and we were pitched (with no footprint) on boggy grass.

We only had a slight wet patch when we packed up and it was where the attachment had been for the bedroom to clip to.

I think if I had a problem like yours I would take it back.

Wet feet with a SIG? That isnt right.

Even without a footprint, inside the tent should be dry

Sorry to ask what may sound like an obvious question but did you spend more time than usual in the tent?.            I ask because we has a similar problem with our Vango Yukon last week. We have used it before in truly awful weather but never had a problem before. The yukon is very similar to the tigris (and we also used our footprint). Anyway, because we didnt have a break in the rain from pitching for about 24 hours the tent started to look a bit soggy ...and the kids spent more time in the tent than we usually do and we had a lot of condensation ...never had this problem before either! The tent did start to drip inside after 3 days. Luckily it wasnt so bad that we got wet gear but when it came to taking down the tent at the end of the week water had puddled under the bedrooms. I dont think any water came threw the floor but from above iyswi mean.

I am going to reproof the tent before we use it again!
