I can't take it up - you only get one NIGHT for £1 in the summer holidays and I work term-time... and then there's the fact of it being the Sun of course.

Have you read the terms? they seem very pernickety about what site you're on and what dates etc from what I saw

haven't had a good look at it yet, could be an issue with hubbys shifts then.

hmm didn't they do a similar thing last year.

If i recall the sites they offered were crap sites in scotland, don't know about England.

IMHO Many of the people who are gonna take up the £1 offer, will be from the Neds/chavs/bams of the world.

We find sometimes it is cheaper in the long run to pay full price and have enjoyiable camping time.

This might sound harsh but belive me this is a lesson learned by experience.

I'm sure campsite owners will not be buying vast quantities of the Sun so as to be favourably reembursed in the quieter months, will they !!

The site that they are using are all over the country. Mainly Parkdean and Haven Caravan sites. Although its in term time, so could be restrictive for a lot of people, my understanding is that you can chose the number of nights you want to stay an collect the appropriate number of vouchers.

We were planning on going to a local site, going over on a Friday afternoon, pitching the tent, then collecting the boys from school and coming home Sunday.

You also book direct so there is no lottey on dates - you get a confirmed booking there and then.

Now all I need is to a new tracksuit and trainers to complete the look for me Chav Holiday......

£1 for ONE night, then you have to pay full price..

Only £1 a night in Sept and Oct.....wow.

All this offer will do is attract a lot people who will just see this an excuse for a cheapy rowdy booze up on a campsite,
Thank god we don't use the sites in the offer

Camping is now the elitist way to holiday now.?

I love this site and am relatively new to camping so look for anyway to take a new camping experience, but i find a couple of those replies condescending to say the least. I will be taking up the Sun offer, trying it out, seeing how it works and making my own way, but thanks for letting me know in advance i may become a chav by doing so.

Slight aside Jools but how are you liking your weathermaster L? We have just been away with friends with their XL and I was struck by a severe case of tent envy!

I know what you mean Jools - they may seem insulting. However, I like to think that what people mean are that those offers and sites will tend to attract people who want to go with friends and get plastered - nothing wrong with that as long as everyone else is doing the same.

You will know what sort of holiday you like - if you're OK with the party atmosphere then I'm sure this offer is fine. I have a couple of young kids and so wouldn't want to touch it with a barge pole, even if they were paying me 17.

Now, if I can get someone to take the kids and wife away for a week, then I'll be right behind you...17

I had a look at our local site and it seems very family orientated - no large groups, couples and families only.
