I can honestly say that I now have everything I need for camping. The problem is there's this gap in my life now that I can't trawl the camping shops in search of new equipment... just realised, I still need one of them zap bats for whacking flies!
When I first started I couldn't understand why anyone wanted more than one tent, let alone needed more than one. Now I have two and have just bought a third. It's never ending.
Cupboards and wardrobes in tents I do not understand - always done fine keeping stuff in the rucksack. So what's it all about - I'm clearly not getting something...
This isn't a comment but a genuine enquiry
------------- Every gadget you own and button you press means that's one more thing you don't actually know how to do.
I don't have a wardrobe, but I have bought a cupboard for the tent. Having limited living space, I wanted to keep all the cooking gear, dogs stuff, food etc as tidy as possible.
We have everything we need...but...I would like better quality gear ie down bags and a lightweight stove ,chairs mats etc. We try to keep everything to a minimum so that the car isnt overloaded with five of us.. I have been searching for a lightweight tent but its impossible to find one big enough for 5 (in my budget anyway). We have a huge vango yukon and tbh I like it but dont love it..its just too big . i would prefer a simpler set up ! Although , thanks to a thread on here last week I have fallen in love with the dutch style tents which are anything but light or cheap!!! Now if I could find a cheap lightweight version of one of those, then the yukon would be on ebay lol!
For me, the limit is set by the space I have to store the stuff at home. Some people (I think they are called Bushcrafters?) start going in the opposite direction, and set the goal of managing with as little as possible.
a canopy is the only thing I had been craving for 2+ nights away and I ordered that tonight, apart from that we are all good, we are very basic, tent, sleeping bags, airbed, chairs & stove... we used to have the whole shabang x 2 but all the lugging downstairs and loading up/packing away just wasnt worth it... we like it as basic as we can manage now.
Wish list for 2010? A Cabanon Pacific with a canopy, half roof lining, and a spare bedroom inner.

DK, you've reminded me of something else I forgot! I'd like a canopy that fits my Gelert, but as there doesn't seem to be such a thing, looks like I'll be saving myself a few quid!
