Hi.
Are you backpacking ? If so, I'd forget the pop up tent. As you say, impossible to strap to a rucksack, and even if you could, you'd find it difficult to get through doors. It would be funny to watch, though.
Likewise, if backpacking, you should be looking for a sleeping bag which is light and packs down small. Generally, the cheaper the bag, the bulkier and heavier it will be for a given temperature rating. I reckon that sleeping bags are something where you get what you pay for, and that you should look past the marketing hype and brand name snobbery and pretty colours to concentrate on the compromise between temperature, pack size and weight. I've seen backpackers who completely fill their huge rucksack with a cheap sleeping bag, and still complain about the cold.
Of course, if you are car camping, then weight and, to a lesser extent, bulk do not matter so much. But that's another story.
