Just got back from a four day Break in our wynster appollo12. All was well had great time only rained on one night and tent performed as it has done on several occasions, very well.
But!! We notice the tent seemed quite dark inside and because of the dome shape both me and my oh had bad backs from bending. Ok if you stand in the middle of the tent. Never really noticed how dark it was before it must have been because we had three days of sunshine.
So we decided to trawl round some camping shops after reading reviews on outwells and royals thought i'd give them a look.
So the fatal mistake! I looked at a Kampa polzeath8 cotton tent. OMG what an amazing tent, Build quality and layout just fab. Gotta have one but £849 is the best price i can find
Should have stayed at hoem and cleaned the Wynster!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
------------- I've seen my dream tent and i've bought it!!!!
Zanzibar 800 polycotton tent - just under 80kg - we were daunted at first, but now find it a breeze to put it up - two people. So don't be put off if that's the tent for you!
the first tent i had was a dome, only place i felt comfortable was the middle,oh the bad back, came home and bought myself a tunnel tent no more bending over for me,it's the way forward
Weight not really a problem tbh. Only got to drag it off the trailer. Blown away at the quality. Really think that Kampa have up the anti with this tent.
OK not for everyone but I'm going to save my pennies!!

Offical weight by btw, Tent 42.1kg, poles 16kg. Seems ok by me. Not really any more than other decent cotton tent and the poles are half the weight of the outwell maryland i was thinking off [31.3kg].
Andymc97, Couldn't agree more

Let me get a bit serious for a second, please if you can afford it and want it live your dream. I have had a close call and staring your own mortality in the face changes your attitude, others here would have lost some one very dear. life is precious enjoy it with your love ones.

I solved the stooping problem by always using a tent that I can't stand up in at all - it's much easier and I can pitch in 10 minutes and don't break my back carrying it around. If you can only sit up in your tent, it's much easier. I wouldn't want a tall one again - too heavy, too long to pitch and too cold. Small tents are much warmer.
------------- There will be good days and bad days and THIS is one of them.
I think that there must be some spies at Kampa as they seem to have a really good range this year for both tenters and caravaners. I think thy are relatively new to the market but seem to have their products spot on.
And they are a British manufacturer ( or so I believe)

Decided i'm going for it Can't get anyone to do a deal though. The best so far is a footprint for half price. Would have thought there must be some profit in them especially as we are nearing the end of the season
Going to have to part with me money if i want to get a couple breaks in before the cold weather is here!!
