I kept milk in my coolbox for over 4 days last time I did freeze it before taking it though, just kept smelling it and it lasted far longer than I thought it would, had taken uht just in case.

We just use UHT and keep it in the coolbox!
Having said that we have just bought EHU lead for a weeks camping as OH flattened the battery in the car last time by "topping up" the coolbox without starting the car!!

You can alway's just put your milk in a pan of cold water throughout the night/day, absoultely fine then if your ice packs are running low.

I picked up a pack of nescafe white coffe cups. Home bargains, deal...
first time we camped we'd not even considered the electric side of things... I got coffee mate (or similar) but homoginised the flavours - tea tasted of coffee n vice versa. Powdered milk would have been better, a spoonful should do it before the water.
------------- Motherhood - it dont get easier, it just gets different.

We use drink pacs
http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/articles/view.asp?id=132
Just add boiling water..
we tried these and not impressed. DO NOT use boiling water or the milk goes lumpy.
for next trip we are taking a tube of condensed milk. We both take milk and sugar. This is what we used to do back when we backpacked.
------------- Yes, the car is bigger than the 'van.

we buy the vending machine drinks from pound shops when we go non ehu, tea, hot chic and bovril. I'm a coffee snob and take a moka stove top and don't take milk with coffee so it isn't an issue.

We usually take a small carton of milk in the cool box but have also taken the vending packs of coffee/tea/hot chocolate that we buy in the pound shops (or similar). I like the idea of those drinkpacs though.
