Hahahaha,

Well thats how I must have looked when we were packing up to leave from La Croix in France last sunday morning!

We had been there for a week and the night before we were leaving it started to rain, just a passing thunder shower I thought.... no way... it lashed down all night As I lay in my bed, listening to the sound of the rain on the tent I remembered that the only clothes I had left out unpacked were 1 set of clothes for travelling and the bikini I had been wearing the day before. It was really warm, although still raining so I decided I would take the tent down in my bikini
I got some strange looks from the various folks wandering back and forth to the toilet blocks all wrapped up in their raincoats and ponchos.
But at least when our gear was all packed I went for a shower and put on my nice dry travelling clothes.

Sensible thing to do.      Waterproofs are great for keeping the rain out, but can be rather warm when you are working.
As you say - you had a nice shower and some dry travelling home clothes.
I usually pack all but the travelling clohtes the night before - one less job in the morning.

We're planning buying a quechua 4.2 pop up (or similar easy up style) for our next trip.
Our thinking is that we can have quick 1 night stop overs on route, and can pack everything from our big set up the night before we go and just have the quechua to put away the morning we leave.

That's the theory, not sure about the practice though!! lol.

Funnily enough I've got a 4.2 as my main tent and have just bought a vango dart 200 ds for one nighters and so that we can pack up our main camp the night before we travel home from France!

This reminds me of a family camping trip to France back in the early 80s. There was a French gentleman camping alone .His only attire a pair of slimline bright yellow briefs, he wore the same briefs all week at all times of the day. My brother and I gave hime the nickname "banana pants".Banana pants somwhat strange clothing choice and behavoir went unoticed by the campsites mainly French cliontele as if it was the most natural thing in the world to stroll about in yellow underwear.

Many, and i mean many years ago, when i was in the cub scouts, if it started to rain when we were away camping we were often told to change into our swimmung stuff so that all our clothes wouldn't get wet and we could carry on with the outdoor activities
