Weather forecasts are educated guesses and are often not entirely accurate.....or even remotely so. So go for it.
You've got a tent with a nice large living area, so the kids won't feel too cramped or enclosed. Take some games or other activities in case there is rain but also take some wellies and macs to let them play out in the rain.
I would keep them in the car while you pitch, however.
Please don't let the rain spoil your trip!
Some of the best camping trips as a kid that I remember involved rain (and as an adult too!) I even remember trekking home with my Dad once when we had camped a few miles from home to get dry socks for everyone :-)
Most kids love to splash about in the rain and there is something about getting dry clothes on when you've finished pitching and sitting in the tent listening to the rain with a well deserved drink!
Hope you all have a lovely weekend :-)
Hi I posted same post this time last week about setting up in the rain i was really worried as only secong time camping and true to forecast it was raining when we arrived at our pitch me oh and 5year old but the buzz off getting out there and getting in done was get loved every minute of it boy sat in motor playing ds and we set about pitching up if it's raining just go for it dont let it ruin ur time there.
We are off on our first family camping trip this weekend too.....given up looking because since we booked a few weeks ago every weather apart from Snow has been forecast
Hi, We're off this weekend too for a first camping trip in a very long time! Have checked the met office and met check and looks like cloud and rain! HAHA! Still, looking forward to the patter of raindrops on the tent and at least the new tent will be run in properly!

Thanks Everyone. I'm not bothered when its up, and we're all inside but the idea of pitching in the rain with two moany children is my worst nightmare.
We're only about an hour from home, going to a campsite in Shropshire so if its really really bad I guess we can just bugger off home.
got my oldest a pair of waterproof trousers today, and the LO has an all in one so might let them run off some steam in the rain while we hiss and shout at each other.
Hope you have a great time and the weather is good to you. When I went away last time, there was torrential rain, thunder etc during the day but by late afternoon, sunshine and blue skies. I'd not have gone away if I'd relied only on the weather forecast
We are going away later this morning for a 4 day break. Have checked the forecast and its meant to be sunny with isolated showers. I go away in the hopes that its nice but dont really worry if its not, we still enjoy ourselves, but then we dont take any children with us, it may be a different story I'm telling when we take the young grandchildren away at some point (with their tents) next summer and the weathers bad.
No matter what the weather is like I'm sure you will have fun. Enjoy.
