We had a great weekend down at Rosedale abbey, where we joined members of the Triumph owners club (even though we aren't owners) for a lovely weekend. The ground was a bit damp when we arrived but the sun was blazing and the ground very quickly dried out. Was the first time we had fully pitched the Tigris 600 and could not convince the door ways to go flat to the ground but this is something we will work on next time. Loved the tent, big bedroom was big enough for 2 double airbeds and used the other bedroom for storage to keep living area clear. Everyone was amazed how much stuff we managed to get in our Yaris but with Microfibre towels and vacuum bags helped a lot. Dropped 60% of the rear seat and nothing went above the height of the rear parcel shelf.
As the weather was so lovely on Sunday when everyone was packing away we decided to stay a day longer as I didn't need to be at work until Monday night. About 4am the rain started and was pretty much persistent until around 8am. We got up and had breakfast and just started to take down the inner tents and pack everthing up when the wind and rain picked up, the rain was literally blowing sideways. Backed the car up the tent loaded everything in. Once we had done that we loaded the little fella in and in the rain me and DW quickly dismantled tent, so glad we bought the footprint as kept the bottom of our tent spotless. Everything loaded into the car, not as neat as when we arrived and dripping all over we were away.
The morale of the story is never stay a day too long.
Can't wait for next time though, anyone else stayed too long and been washed out?
