Hello to all, just a quick not to say Hi from a new camper and ask a couple of questions.
Recenttly bought an old trailer tent, a Conway Contiki DL a 1985 I think?.
Tent is in reasonable condition for age and has had a professional repair. Stayed in Brixham last week with it, all good except we had a couple of days of none stop heavy rain, eventually we had a couple of drip ins along the awning side poles and the roof where an inside vallance was just touching it, to be fair it did better than I expected for an old canvas.
When we left i had a bit of a rush on and while the tent was dry there was some bird droppings on it. Do i need to set it up and clean this off (without detergents), also is it worth re-waterproofing the tent for next year? I think the previous guy had been doing it so this means the cycle has to continue, is this right?
Any info you veterans could send my way would be much appreciated (are/were these Conways any good btw ? )
Mike
