Have just got back from beautiful Dorset and had to pack up the tent wet, got home and put it up in garden to dry out. i would like to know what is best to use to clean a poly cotton Outwell tent without damaging the fabric or compromise its waterproofing. Any suggestions please.

Just to give you a first suggestion - let it dry then brush off the mud. Someone else will be along to help you deal with the stains.

Lots of cold water is the safest way, just plain water with no detergent or other substance that could affect the waterproofing.

Dried on mud is abrasive, and brushing it can abrade the fabric.

Don't worry about stains, they make the tent look used.

You're not the only one. Luckily our footprint took most of the mud, but it was so wet at one point the water ran between the tent & the footprint. We unpitched the front half of our tent to clean the underside halfway through.
