I had been tracking a inflatable sofa on fleabay for the last few days. They said I could collect from Barnsley so I thought get it for £20 and it's a right bargain. What happened I hear you all ask, that's right a second hand inflatable sofa went for £36 so I'm off to Towsure to get a brand new one for £40 .
Some people are mad - I see it all the time on fleabay, people bidding and getting finger happy and end up paying more than or almost more than brand new. I've been watching showers recently (not for camping) and seen loads of this happen - they must be mad.
Strange that whenever I sell something someone always gets a bargain!
Or is it "shill bidding "getting your mate to bid ,then offer it to the second highest bidder !! i hate ebay !!!
When i was looking at some tents a while back , a few were sold for nearly new prices ,then a few days later they reappeared on ebay because they were let down by the so called winning bidder
I've also been tracking camping items on Ebay - hoping to pick up some bargains, but as BigTw says used items are being sold for a couple of pounds less than a new one. I've now given up and will just go and buy new.
Ebay is fine as long as you have an idea of what is a good price. As above i have seen alot of auctions getting silly, and even where the same seller has the same item on a buy it now for less money !!
HI, a good site for second hand stuff is 'Preloved'. Just type it into google and it will bring it up. We got our tent from there recently. Outwell Minnisota 4 for £180. It still had silica gel packets inside the tent as it had never been used. Would use site again! It's not an auction site like ebay.
