Hi Again. Is it safe to use a fan heater in a tent with sig. I find i don't sleep too well at night, as i am a cold welsh lamb. I was hoping to use one for the bedroom, but worried about the safety. Don't want to end up a roated lamb.

Get a thermostated one.We used one last November.It switched on and off through the night but because we were warm we slept right through it.

Hi there

we have used a fan heater with sig for years,as long as you dont obstruct it and have a thermostat you'll have no problems but always check on the sites ampage aswell

We always use one all through the night makes all the difference we have a 2 kw heater £9.95 from Argos

We can't sleep with the fan heater cutting in & out at night, so we use a skirting heater from Argos which is silent, as safe as any electric heater can be, and it's quite slim to pack in the back of the car boot too. Only 500w but hubby said that it kept our 4 berth inner warmer than the central heating keeps our bedroom at home

we use gas heaters while awake (they are hotter than fan and use a thermostated one which cuts out threough the night. using the gas first and electric after keeps the sig tent we have warm and toasty all night long :)

We have used ours for the last 14 years(£10 from Argos)If its cold at night we just stand it on a little stool and leave it running all night.Just make sure you have plenty of space around it and don't have the back of it against anything.
A brilliant bit of kit...

we used one when in our diablo 900,but put it on top of a small table(made sure it was stable first).but never used it in the bedroom pods,we were usually toasty in our bags.You could always get a 3-4 season sleeping bag

We use a fan heater with thermostat - great bit of kit.
I usually have the doors and windows open all day to air the tent and the bedroom pod vents are left open 24/7 and have never had a problem with condensation.

We don't have SIG but we do use a fan heater, but only in the living area. I've never found the need to keep it going during the night, aslong as I go to bed warm I'm usually okay, not really sure I like the idea of it running all night. But then again, we only camp from May to August!

we use a small oil filled radiator, keeps the tent toasty,safe as long as not covered, and silent!

When we were camping a couple of weeks ago it got quite chilly overnight and while I didn't mind the Jack Russell getting under the duvet to keep warm it was a bit much with the labrador too. I switched on our cheapie Argos fan heater and the dogs were much happier to go back to their own beds. I set the thermostat very low so it wasn't exactly toastie warm but it kept the chill off the air.

If you've got a hook up, the halogen one's give off great heat and you can get them with a thermostat that switches them off. Also no noise at all! If not, the one's with the gas canisters are pretty good. Whichever you choose, make sure there's nothing in front of them, and that the kids keep away from them.They can get pretty warm!
