Get camping pots and pans and mugs if you haven't got them. The kind of setup where everything slots inside one another.

Beware the blue PP mugs from Decathlon - tea tastes like death out of one of those. Coffee is fine though. I suspect the green PC ones are better in that respect.

I assume you are already using stuff sacks for everything that can be squashed? We stuff sacked our pillows, which saved a load of space. And took small bottles of washing up liquid and ariel - the kind you get for decanting cosmetics into for plane journeys. And a smaller gas bottle.

As for the cool box / fridge, one option would be to put things in the fridge for transport, then shop when you arrive.

We live in Stoke on Trent and hired a roof box from Stone - google roof box hire or put a search on ebay.  It cost us £35 for the week.

Hi

We use to put our sleeping bags flat on the back seat of the car then the kids sat on them and the pillows at the sides so they could have a kip in car.

We do that, too, sit on all the bedding! You won't need a cool box or fridge in September!
