Hi everyone

How many of you use an inflatable sofa in your tent ?  Only asking as I am considering buying one ready for the next season.  At the moment OH and I use Gelert folding chairs, but we find they get uncomfortable to use during the evenings and in wet weather when we end up spending more time actually in our tent. I have seen a very comfortable looking one on several web sites (think the manufacturer is called Bestway)  As I haven't seen any on show anywhere just wondered if they are worth buying.

What do think?

To have continued co-operation from the she-devil with my camping activities I bought her an inflatable Coleman armchair, it's very comfortable and also seems to be quite good as a rocking chair. I was surprised to find that it's quicker to inflate than a single airbed.

Wilkinsons usually sell the Bestway single and double bed/chairs but seem to have sold out for this season. Get there early next year!

we've got one! (bestway) It was extremly comfy to sit on. We had an extra guest staying with us for a couple of nights when we was away last, and it came in handy for he to sleep on (it's the sofa bed one) The only down side we found, was because it got a lot of use, we had to keep putting a little more air in every 2 or 3 days. Also, when you flick the bottom part of the sofa out, to make it into a bed, they are hinged together, but they can pull apart slightly, so it could become a bit of a problem if you was to sleep on it and wriggle alot in the night. You might slip between the 2 mattresses!!

I'm glad i got mine though. It's been a god send, because when your away for 2 weeks, those fold up chair things, that everyone seems to have, do become a little uncomfortable after a while!

Thanks everyone, and thank you Grubby for the info on the Bestway one. From what everyone has said I think I will get one for the next season - can't face another camp just with my gelert folding chairs - my legs are knackerd enough !!!!

if you have mobility issues inflatable sofas may not be the right choice. I love ours but not really easy to get up from a seated position, but they are really comfy.

They are fine till they go down, very hit and miss, but comfy.
As John Preece has already said,no good if you have mobility problems, really hard to get up off as you have nothing to hold on to/push against.

I think decent quality, comfortable camping chairs hold your answer. Such as Lafuma.

We bought a Bestway sofa - mainly to fill up some of the space in our Bear Lake
It is very comfortable with 1 person curled up on it, but not great with 2 side by side.... It looks cool though with a throw over it!
We used it last weekend to sleep on as our lilo had gone POP and it was great to sleep on and it folded up in the daytime to give more space (we were in our small tent)
On the whole i wouldn't use it to replace folding chairs, but it's handy to have if one person wants to 'slob out' in the tent, or to use it as a spare bed.

Thanks folks - now I'm totally confused !!!! 17

I don't have a problem with mobility, but I have long legs (no comments please!) and find the average camping chair cuts in the back of my leggies.17

Hi Hilda-hairnet - we have a B/L too and thought we would have loads of room for a sofa as there is only me and hubby.

Having a sofa seemed to tick all the right boxes for us.  Its amazing the differences in opinion on here about them !  Thank you all anyway 17
