Not been asked straight out yet, but a friend has said in passing if we 'had an old tent could they garden camp with the children to see if they like it). Mmm. I don't have 'an old tent' just two second handers I like, and a amall but carefully selected small one. Not sure what I'd say actually, as they camped before at all.
Which made me think: would you lend if you offered first but, not if you were asked to borrow? It's a different kind of stimulus and power 'thingy'. I'm happier to offer to lend - but not ever so happy being asked if someone can borrow. Puts me on the spot and feel obliged to say yes (or seem mean) but then have angst over handing over something you may have chosen with care, can't replace or can't afford to.
Anyone else feel the same?
