I have a cream Athena, that now has blackberry coloured bird-poo stain on it....I`ve brushed the `solid` bit off but its left purple stain down the side.
I`m not having a good day and this is not helping...
That is a tough one,if you use something too strong you will take the colour out of the canvas. You might have to live with it and just give the affected area a spray with Fabsil.
Edit..I have just seen this, though you might faint when you see the price.
i have never reprrofed jo but i probabbly dont get it any wetter than a bad downpour and it has never leaked afterwards. is the cabanon still up in the garden?
------------- A tent is like a newborn born baby..... to some they all look the same..... but if its yours it's beautiful.

And on its second outing too. Let me say I wasnt in the slightest bit impresesd.
Not sure what berries they were eating but it made me say some very bad words lol
Without reproofing, the best thing is to probably brush it with a soft brush (once dry) then rinse with LOTS of water. Hosepipe or bucket and running shoes spring to mind :)
I certainly wouldnt use a cleaning product and reproofer just for a bit of bird poo no matter how funky the color :)
ignore it we have 20 years of it ,you cant see it from the inside and who gives a hoot what others think seeing it on the outside.
it eventually just disappears
I've got sap on my canvas bell tent. Just brushed off what I could and left it - I don't care any more! Although the bell tent is my perfect tent, I'm not going to get a Lavvu as well, in green, so for short trips with a smaller number I won't have to worry about the dirt.
I`m so loathe to do that as its perfectly waterproof now.....bloody birds, wouldn`t mind but both cats were snoozing next to the tent
When this happened on our canvas tent I let it dry then scrapped the dirt off. Next time it rained I could tell the patch was absorbing moisture a bit and so when it had dried out I just sprayed the area with weatherproof spray and haven't had any trouble since.
We had the same problem as we've got elderberry bushes in the garden. We put the tent up to clean it and did a good job and so re-proofed it and left it to dry. A day later we were going to take it down and found purple stains all down one side!
Try as I might they would not wash off, so I've left them. As fatbloke28 says, who cares what others think!!
