well my outwell idaho xl has done me and my children very very proud, last year camped in it for about 6 weeks in total and this year have camped in it for a total of 12 weeks,  not had any problems at all, got back on tue from a 2 month stint, needless to say the tent held up well but is past its best, (to much bird poo on the tent, too much sun on the roof).

held a private ceremony with the kid and promised them a new (albit 2nd hand caravan), love camping and plan to do long term camping from now on so thought caravan is the way to go.

sad to see my idaho go but its in the recycling depo.

now got to find a nice caravan with the space i need for 3 young children, or someone convince me to get a new tent, booked for oct half term so need something soon.

had a wonderful camping season with many many happy memories for us all.

That must have been sad. Sounds like you got a lot of use out of her though and some great memories.

As for the tent/ caravan dilemma............ you can only really go camping in a tent cant you?

I have jut googled to see what sort of tent this is and see it seems to have a big bedroom plus a smaller one.

I wonder if the big bedroom pod would fit in our Ontario 8 ?

Does anyone know please - if it does then we can get a 2nd large pod for our tent

(assuming Outwell sell bedroom pods - Kyham don't!!)

sorry i did have the footprint but it got contaminated last year so didn;'t use it this year, and to my surprise the sig was fine and i actually had no condensation at all, my friend also didn't use her footprint as well and again no condensation, we found all the footprint did was trap rain water between the footprint and the sig.

sorry to disapoint.

How do you know when your tent has seen better days, unless there is obvious tears or leaks.
We bought ours just before last Summer, so has been used for two years. It seems to have lots of life left in it which I'm so glad as we really haven't found any sort of tent that matches up.

If it's not leaking water then don't bother thinking of replacing it...........unless you have lots of cash and just fancy a change of tent.....lol

Ha ha ha ha. I wish. As much as I'd love a new tent (Why?) we cannot find any that have such a great layout and ideal space than the tent we currently have. So when the time comes I think we are going to have real problems.
