Going to Fairways International Site in Bridgewater. Last trip of the year we think... only found camping this year so feel but sad got to wait so long to go back out!
Breck Farm, Holt. Heading off tomorrow afternoon - should be good! Campfire tomorrow night and Saturday night, and coming back via Pensthorpe on Sunday.
We are off to C & CC site in Leek, lovely clean little site. Borrowed an electric heater from neighbours in case its very cold at night - we have the small gas ones but trying electric - may be first purchase of the next season !!! Normally wouldn't go at this time of year but going with friends who want to try their new equipment out (first time campers) brrrrrrrrrrr Home Sunday, equipment will be put to bed for another winter
nowhere, I've hung my camping hat up for this year. There is a site not far from us I'd liked to have checked out this year but the mrs says no more camping til easter and that's it!
Had a great time last night at the school family camp, apart from the noisy tw4ts in the village where we were staying that decided they would have a party at 2am this morning & do a tour of our campsite. Mind you, the weather at that time of the morning was quite pleasant and we didn't need all the blankets that we took.
Several of the families that went had never been camping before, boring or even buying tents especially for the night and are hopefully now converted. One family I was chatting to were gobsmacked when I said that this year we spent 25 nights under canvas.
Just returned from a brilliant weekend at Leek C & CC site - weather much much better than I thought it would be. After reading all the threads about heaters on this forum (we have a gas one) I decided to try an electric fan heater - I'M CONVERTED GUYS This will be my first purchase of 2010 season. We still used the gas one though in the canopy in the evening.
Thought the nights would be freezing because of the clear skies, but I was surprised how warm and snug I was in my sleeping bag and the heater just on very low in the main tent, blowing towards the bedroom (even the socks had to be removed )
Sad though that all is being packed away tomorrow in the re-inforced loft until spring but don't want to push my luck with the weather and may as well finish off the season with very happy memories.
