How sad, ibiza... Still, tis better to have camped and lost the photos, than never to have camped at all.  Hope you now have a more recent store of photographs to enjoy.

Tents tended to come in two types then - the scout and guide, belt and braces ridge variety, and the caravan-awning, housey, bells and whistles style!  I notice in the last picture, gran. is camping with the family.  The housey style of tent was probably more acceptable to the old-fashioned grans. of those days than the hi-tech. look of modern tunnel tents.  My 70s frame tent had a glorious interior design of large, brown flowers, absolutely twee and very much of the age.  I can almost hear my gran. (God rest her!) looking at my 2008 Aztec and saying "You're not getting me sleeping in that thing! Where's the floral curtains?!"
