Passed the goose fair site just yesterday. There are hundreds of caravans on the forest, but they belong to the people running the fair. you have to be a member of the showmans guild to get onto the site.Think its a worker union

Biggest problem at Goose Fair these days sadly is petty crime.  Not just pickpockets and the like either.  Low-level street robberies, such as mobile phone theft, bag snatches etc are commonplace.

I understand that there is a high police presence (usually the CSO types) but still not somewhere I would fancy.

Much prefer the thought of Alton Towers.

If you are planning to go, and are not Nottingham based, easiest route in is to park at Phoenix Park (M1 J26, then take A610 towards Nottingham) Phoenix Park on the left - and use the park and ride tram service - as it will take you right to Goose Fair.

we live 5 minutes drive from the fair, we hate it!! there are to many gang's, no where to pak and to expensive, we wont even let our teenage daughters go.

we are going camping instead
