We have our new tent (Norfolk Lake ) up in our garden and are planning to sleep in it tonight with the kids, but I have just seen the weather forecast and they are predicting 70 mph winds overnight and through tomorrow ,.So would you risk sleeping in it or take it down and leave it for another night.
Personaly I would leave it unless you want to give it a darn good test at home. We recently camped in very high winds and even though really well nailed to the floor the flapping kept us awake most of the night.
Rick, your tent will be fine. We camped at Seahouses at Easter in wind that bent the steel poles of our windbreak 90 degrees. The Norfolk Lake didnt budge. That was in an unsheltered field too, your garden looks quite sheltered from the pics on the earlier threat.
Good luck anyway.

Cool campers use Delta Pegs.
The happiest people aren't the ones who have everything they are the ones who make the most of everything they have
The next door neighbours are in the process of cutting all the trees down at the momment and are planning on burning them tonight(they only started about 4.30)which I didn't know they were doing , that combined with the wind I have taken the safest route and have taken it down Dezzie .
We recently spent 2 weeks at Glen Nevis site in scotland and had winds of 45mph and our outwell nebraska shook a lot but did not move. Quite an experience, bit scary but we were fine. Delta pegs made sure we did not go adrift.
This might sound incredibly mad but as I live in a flat and decided not to go camping at the weekend my OH put our tent up in the living room and we snuggled in to it with some munchies and watched old movies from inside. slept like a baby and thoroughly enjoyed it!
