Does anyone know of an award for the best customer service as we would like to nominate Taunton Leisure for what we consider to be excellent service.  Last year we purchased a Coleman double height queen airbed which unfortunately failed after two nights use, the 'baffles' inside separated.   We e-mailed Tauntons enclosing a photo of the defective bed, they refunded the cost of it within a week, without even requesting the return of the bed or any other hassle (unfortunately they did not have any more in stock to give us a replacement).

This year we purchased a Khyam Indiana 8 TC from their Sanders display.  As the box had been opened before they insisted on erecting the tent to ensure that we were happy with the condition of it.  We couldn't christen the tent until September when we were caught in the tail end of Hurricane Dan - anyone in Dorset at the time will know what we experienced.  Three pole sections gave way as a result and we also noted some plactic hooks missing from the groundsheet that we hadn't noticed when we bought it.  Within a week of informing Tauntons of this they had contacted Kyhams, obtained replacement pole sections and hooks (including spares) and they were delivered as requested.  Most other retailers would consider pole sections as expendable and having them fail a part and parcel of camping.

We can, and do, strongly recommend this company to anyone buying camping kit, it is a shame that there are not more companies like this around, camping or otherwise, where customer service is still as you would like to get, not how it so often is nowdays.

In this months Camping magazine they are promoting their awards that they are introducing next year. It is asking for suggestions for best site but it might be worth you contacting them with your feedback. Just a thought

For us it's Norwich Camping & Leisure who'd get our vote.
