Camped in ice (not snow) a few times in the sixties in my old canvas ridge tent. No problems, but I re-proofed it loads to keep the water out. I'd say if you've got a decent tent, it should stand up to a bit of a freeze.

yes they will it will just needs warming up a little. just keep them in the car while out and about.
& what about a cuppa on a freezing morning then? the car will be colder inside than the tent. If you are going winter camping butane is a waste of time, sooner or later it won't work. So why bother? if you are winter camping take propane gas.
tbh i wouldn't turn the electric heater off it was that cold. I use cartridge heaters to top up te heat, and i definitely wouldn't go non ehu in the dead of winter. However, I should think that not everyone would stay ehu. Anyway horses for courses i guess.
------------- Camped since 2008 and still loving it!
We went in our trailer tent in Febuary one year and it was great, nice sunny days but freezing at night and the water bucket froze, we stayed on the C&CC site in Keswick so could walk into the town in 5 min, just make sure you have a heater and good lighting and there was no problem with the tent.
Also another good site open all year is sykeside at Brotherswater with plenty off walking from the site, and a pub on site doing really good food, see link below.
we just got back anbd granted it was not the worst october weather but we were lovely and warm in the cabanon , granted we did have the heater on quite a lot but we were really snug in bed. i would go again this time of year ....... later even as long as i had the heater lol
------------- A tent is like a newborn born baby..... to some they all look the same..... but if its yours it's beautiful.
