You could try phoning jacksons of arley (west midlands)

They could probably advise you, they usually really helpful with poles and things

I was going to put Jacksons of Arley -

They did do tent repairs as we had a new front door zip in our first canvas tent but that was a few years ago and cost £50.  If its not broken then I would try some sort of lubrication even a bit of vaseline - but don't get it on the canvas!

If it is tight when it is pitched try adjusting the front legs so the front of the tent is not so tight on that side of the tent. If not using but can pitch it once you have the door closed wet it through with a hosepipe and leave it to dry keep the door closed until it dries it may stretch the canvas a little.

start zip and puff a small amount into each side of zip slider,zip a few inch and repeat till length of zip fully done.

Fiona had some modifications made to her canvas tent if anyone can remember the thread...company near Manchester I think
