Agree - I didn't realise there were much nice, better quality tents out there when I first started.  Then I found this site....:))

I do not agree that we are all mocking this tent. I have tried to remain non judgemental to the quality, I have expressed that personally its not for me, but having said that if i bid and got one for £30 or even less as someone already has i think you would not better that price. As a present to my granddaughter to use in the back garden brilliant.
I have to agree with woofers above I know there is a vast differential in the price but how can you use a beautiful bear lake and then want some thing far inferior.
But needs must I previously had brand new discovery's and rangerovers but now have a few years old ford focus. Things change maybe in years to come this will be all I can afford and will be please I have something to camp in at all

I'd laugh out loud if anyone thought I was a tent snob (which Im not) Neither am I a tent expert..Indeed needing and enjoying all the tips I get on here in that department...But I do know rubbish when I see it and that tent is rubbish on so many levels..even to my untrained eye...1st gust of strong wind..or downpour..and you'd soon see exactly what you'd bought...

Here we all are mocking these inferior tents (myself included). Now i'm sitting watching the news and realise these poor people in Haiti would be so grateful of a shelter like the affore mentioned crappy tents, Valbarley's right, we are all tent snobs.
Just seen on the news the type of tent they ARE sending out to Haiti, Wow, large white thing looks very sturdy and seems to come with its own chimney stack. Looks way better than this ebay tent, in fact better than a lot of tents on the market right now.

I wasn't for one minute calling anybody, I just had one of those 'boy do I feel like an ungrateful tw*t' moments. My heart really went out to these people, sitting under shelters made from a tarp and a couple of sticks, no food, heat, medication or water. I've seen the tents/shelters the red cross, oxfam etc.. use from when I was in the army.

I had an Isetta BMW when I was younger. I also wish I still had it now. Not just because of the value, (I sold it for fifty pounds  in 1966) but because it would make a perfect town car, and would fit in my back yard, which is only twelve feet long. Parking is a real problem where I live, and I often walk or just don't make local trips, as I can't get parked when I get back.

With regard to the tent, If it is rubbish, then it is thirty or what ever pounds down the drain, which for someone short of funds, is not acceptable.

I remember when I was a kid a woman who went to our local church had a bubble car - don't know what make - and if a parking space was too small she would reverse the back end in then get out, lift the front up, and move it round!

I had a Royal Avignon which was remarkably similar to this. The Avignon did however have a couple of side poles that stiffened it up enormously. The Avignon is slightly raked at the rear (can't see on this ebay tent) but was otherwise as aerodynamic as a brick, just like this this. The poles look about the same. The guy points don't look so bad, but I'd change the string to something I could see! The front door zip looks exposed - no storm flap. Except for the colour, I'd give it a go. It would probably serve up a great silhouette show!

Love the idea of a silhouette show we could have competitions with it to pass the evenings away at club meets and at current bid price of £6.50 cheap entertainment

I just wonder who recommended his recommended retail price

I had one of those, a Canyon II, it did me several seasons well enough and now gets loaned out. Still functioning and survived some challenging weather too. I didn't expect it to last for the price, but it has. The only reason I changed is because I am disabled and can no longer pitch it.

The spelling and grammar used is somewhat suspect also and if you consider that they have nothing else to sell and are untraceable on Google (at least to me) I would cast a tiny amount of doubt about their claim to be a "high quality retailer".

Of course I could be wrong.
