have to admit that we are gonna be scuppered when we come to sel our tent as I have no pics of the whole tent from the outside ....I have inside ones though rofl
You would just use a stock photo Bob and use your inside photos and say that in the listing.
What I would do is pitch it and take pics especially to sell it. That way you can also check it over and make sure all is well.
I feel happier now the seller has added that comment - I think the messages asking about the flymesh might have done it. I have nothing against stock photos or even if you do nick someone elses saying that the photos aren't of my tent but my tent is the same & looks the same as this one would be better. Personally I'd pitch & take my own pics it but I guess not everyone has the space to do this.
Im usually very happy to share photos of my lovely tent with the world but this did feel a bit weird - I hope seller & buyer have a happy sale!
Could be worse, someone actually nicked some of my rugby photos and put them up for sale on ebay, contact ebay and report it, they do act rather quickly. My photos were soon removed. The person selling my photos claimed they googled the player and the photos came up, but that wasn't the case.

to be honest i think there are plenty of things to worry about or get angry about goung on in the world. Somebody using a picture that doesn't belong to them isn't one of them. Chill out, stop worrying, move on!
Gotta agree
the person probably just searched google images for their type/make of tent and your picture came up
they may not have a digital camera or can`t be bothered to put their tent up to take a picture
they`re not selling your tent - they`re selling theirs
no big deal IMO
loads of e bay sales with a picture not of the actual item.
e bay `can` be a dodgy site but you just have to use common sense

I have bought from e bay and twice the purchased items have not matched what was delivered. I complained to seller 1st then e bay if not satisfied and got my money back each time. that's what paypal is for. going to look on e bay now LOL
For me the principal cause for concern is fraud - there's a lot of it happening on ebay and it's a great place to fence goods. Yes there is a sob story attached to the ad, but fraudsters aren't against telling a few porkies (sorry I'm just very cynical). You have to ask why this person hasn't used their own photo. The could just be plain lazy or they might not actually own/have the goods they are selling (happens with caravans, why not tents). The item may be too badly damaged to photograph - in which case it's still fraud. I've bought and sold on ebay and spend a fair amount of time getting my ads ready including taking piccies. If it happened to me I'd report the infringement directly to ebay.

Hi Debs sorry to hear about your husband it must be a terrible time for you. It was my tent photo you used, I was never offended but more concerned about my user name & link to this website being splashed across it. If you read through this thread you will see that I was never offended or annoyed just a bit confused as to whether I should do something about it. Anyway my concerns were put to rest a while ago & as you say it can be googled anyway. I dont think anyone on here meant to upset you but we have all heard of people or ourselves been misled by sellers in the past & opinons were probably drawn on those experiences. I hope you get a good price for your tent - as I should know it is a fantastic tent!!
thank you everyone for your comments and i am sorry again, i will be sad to see the tent go as when i bought it could not believe the condition it was in and still is
