One with a thermal cut out. I bought one from ebay for about £5 last season. I used it all summer long. I've seen some in B and Q that would be suitable but they're more than £5. Google around for the best bargains.
I've just ordered the Kampa Oscillating Ceramic Heater from Yeomans. Don't know what it's like but I'm hoping it will arrive today so will let you know if it does.
I think the max watts would be 2200 on a 10 amp connection but I could be totally wrong. I'm sure someone will be along to correct me soon enough if I am.
We have a cheap fan heater with thermostat control which we bought for £2 at a car boot sale during a particularly cold trip away! Best thing we ever bought!!!
We have only ever used it on the 1Kw setting and find this more than sufficient to heat our Khyam Ontario 8. We also run a light and coolbox/fridge and have never had a problem with power supply.
Just bought the Outwell M fan heater from Yoemans on-line. Two wattage settings and auto cut off if it gets knocked over. £20 plus about £4.50 P&P, down from £44, Bargain, couldn't get hold of them last year so glad i waited because a lot cheaper this year
I just use a cheapie fan heater. It cuts off if knocked over, It has 2 settings, which only use the lower setting of 1kw, which I find adequate. As i'm always worried about tripping electrics.
We bought our fan heater from Argos last year and I remember reading all the positive reviews and most of them were saying they were using it in their tents!

Have seen this one, my biggest worry about a fan heater is safety - any advice on the safety aspects on this? Is it missing anything important? As it was a flat one it looked safer than the more upright one in argos.
Is it better to put them high up on a table or on the ground - I have a 4 yr old and was worried about spilages if its on the floor but it could be knocked if on a table! Sorry I've not used a heater in a tent before so not sure whats the best!
We bought this one - not cheap at £46 but has lots of safety features.
It can be set to whatever temp you want and has a timer, frost setting, cut out if it gets knocked etc etc
That is very similar to the one we have and would be ideal in your tent - the cool air function is great in the warmer weather and if you camp early or late in the season the frost control can be set and the heater will click on and off during the night to help keep you warm. We bought a very low folding table which our heater sits on.
We have the Outwell model, great peice of kit if EHU is avialable and a small gas one for shell island. Both take the morning / evening chill away but not to be left alone with Kids and pets about.
