Well I have to get the priorities right somewhere LOL

Lol. We used them and no one pinched our fish fingers! They did move our bag around quite a bit though so often had to search for it.

As long as the stuff is clearly marked then I dont see a problem on quieter sites. I know that last year at a site I visited folks were complaining about thier icepacks getting stolen from the freezer.

I'll definitely keep my JD stashed away then, maybe I'll just keep the diet coke in the fridge!

Do you normally put Jack Daniels in the fridge??????

Never had a problem with anything walking from a communal fridge.  'Tampering' never occured to me....would some sod inject mercury into my ale?

Like others I have used communal fridge/freezers with no problems with food going missing or being messed about with. The only gripe I have, is sometimes they are too full, so either my ice blocks won't fit in, or they are not very cold so I worried about my food going off. In fact if possible I always look for a site that has freezer facilities.

Thanks all, I think the benefits of the fridge outway the cons so will definitely be using it.  I was thinking more of people having a nibble on my cheese rather than putting mercury in my ale!

I can own up to nicking icepacks - well not me personally.  Sent OH and bro to the freezing for OUR icepacks and they came back with someone elses.  Said they didn't realise you kept your own!  We put them back though.

I have used these in the past to store frozen food and also freeze icepacks. I have had icepacks stolen from one once so just use cheap ones. Store your food well wrapped in a very identifiable unique to the freezer outer bag so no mistakes can be made by others opening a bag and thinking its theirs. Inside that have another bag tied or sealed in a way that you will know if anything has been tampered with inside and you should be fine.

when we used forest fields last year, we did not put our ice packs in the freezer we used some bottles of water, so if they disappeared it would not matter.

but i love camping so much because of the trust you have in your fellow camper! maybe i am nieve but i would not even worry about leaving my wallet in my tent lol.

i think forest fields in wales is the perfrect demonstration of trust put into campers, communial fridge, and shop which has a honesty box, and also a phone charging station
